IAOCC is proud to host a motivational speech by Amla Mehta. This is a free event – open for all members of the community, and especially geared towards middle and high school students.
Here are a few words by Amla:
Greetings! My name is Amla Mehta and I am a Motivational Speaker and teacher based on myself being legally blind. I have an eye condition called Gyrate Atrophy. This particular condition causes gradual Vision Loss between the age of 45 and 60.
Ironically enough, by slowly losing my sight, I have gained tremendous awareness and insight by being my true authentic-self. Every human being faces challenges big or small, mine just happens to be physical.
After all, Gyrate Atrophy represents itself as a part of me, but it does not define me.
Please join me for a 1hr discussion based on the topic of “Facing Loss”:
~ I will share my personal journey of Gradual Vision Loss
~ I will offer tools of how to cope with loss – whether it may be loss of a loved one, parting ways with a friend, job loss, or failing health
~ I will offer a chant or two to the divine. After all, God is our savior and always supports you!
We hope you can join us to support Amla and learn from her!
